LOVE, SPELLED… D.R.E.S.S.E.R {RE-DO}

{ true} love… The act of dying to your selfishness , and holding the other one up, even when it’s hard and even when we didn’t { want} too. Learning that { little} things, like kindness, patience, forgiveness , and understanding mean so much. I believe marriage is a constant type of battle, brought on by , you know … { life}… money, or lack of it, wanting to have babies & not, losing babies, having babies, starting business’s, losing a parent, cancer, sin, responsibility, and the list goes on… I am too aware of many loved ones , who are at the front lines of this battle as I write, and I am reminded of how truly blessed I am to to have a very committed and loving spouse, my lifelong friend, fighting the battle alongside me… Shame on me for the days I take this for granted ! All of this being said, we are real and our marriage and commitment to each other is special , so any old gift for him just wouldn’t do… Gifts aren’t really his thing, he is much more appreciative of dinner on the table when he gets home, and clean neatly folded underwear in his dresser drawer every morning( because I home school 4 children this is a big deal !) Knowing how these things please him, and after hearing him ( under his breath) talk about how he had an extreme disliking for the fact his clothes were in an armoire, I decided a dresser re~ do was the perfect gift! I promptly emptied and sold his armoire, and purchased an old dusty dresser with lots of potential. After much cleaning, sanding, painting, and distressing …. It was done! It turned out so beautiful, now for the final touches…. It had to be great after the way I had been talking it up, while his clothes sat in piles on the floor for days waiting for his new gift! While he was at work, I hauled it upstairs to our room , filled it neatly with his clothes , and then added some vintage treasures on the top. ( of course) My favorite is the vintage fan he had found at a local flea market recently . I put U & Me = on the chalkboard and attached a vintage flash card with{ Us} on it to the fan! I am so happy with how it turned out … not the most { romantic } gift! but from the heart of his wife…. Who happens to be a
{ junker}… He loves it …
